Starred this Week

These last two weeks have been grueling.  I’ve worked every single weeknight.  But you know what?  I’m feeling really fulfilled.  And instead of feeling drained, I feel energized.  So while I will enjoy turning the notifications off of my email this weekend, I’m really excited to dive back into work when we get back.  Spring 2013 is turning out to be pretty wonderful.

We’re headed home today- I’m looking forward to helping my mom plant the rest of her flowers and running our 10k tomorrow!  What are your plans for the long weekend, friends?

Starred this Week

This week has set the bar for a new level of crazy.  I worked every night this week and I’ve frankly just been terrible at basic human functions.  Luckily, Brian has totally picked up my slack, which has been a lifesaver.  My brother and his girlfriend are coming into town tonight, and I couldn’t be more excited to just relax this weekend!  What are you up to this weekend, friends?

I have been super lame on the blog reading front this week!  I’ll get back into the swing of things soon enough.  In the meantime, make sure you’re caught up on the links below!

I’ll be doing a full post on Monday, but in the meantime, check out the site that I’ve been working on all week!

This Week

This weekend I just didn’t get to the whole Starred this Week thing, but I really like doing a little round up of what I’ve been up to- it’s just nice to have it to look back on.  So while I know it’s Monday, in the spirit of playing catch up (which is what I’m doing all day!) we’re gonna look at last week.

I don’t know if it’s just spring or what, but I’ve been feeling a little bit of an itch to change things up lately.  I’m not really sure what that means, but I’ve been having more ideas that usual about adding new features and making things look a little different.  Is it just me?  Over the weekend I finally pulled the trigger and changed my Twitter and Instagram handle.  It felt good to do something I’ve been considering for a long time!

Also, I wanted to thank you guys for all of your sweet words on this post.  I’m still working on responding, but in the meantime please know that each of your comments brightened my week.  We’re still at my parents’ house this week, but things are a little more settled and I’m catching up on what I missed last week!

I know I’m not off to the best start, but I’m really looking forward to this blogging challenge that focuses on quality over quantity- come join in!  And while I don’t have plans on participating right now, I’m also really loving the posts that are resulting from Jenni’s Blog Every Day in May Challenge.

Starred this Week

Work has been kinda crazy this week, but it’s hard not to feel content when the sun is shining and there’s this delightful breeze blowing through the apartment.  I know it’s not the most exciting topic, but the weather we’ve been having this week is incredible.  I went for a run this week around noon, and it was so sunny and in the crisp upper 60s.  I’m spoiled for life.

This is the first weekend in a while where we don’t really have anything planned.  I’m looking forward to catching up on some work (and blogging!) and getting some downtime.  What are you up to this weekend?starred this week

Love this post about being honest with yourself.

Really interesting post about women in WordPress.

About sharing the extra-ordinary.

This made me laugh.

Discussed my workout wardrobe issues.

Talked about studying the work of others and looked at some great examples of painted lettering.

Starred this Week

If there’s a positive to sad things happening in the world (and that’s a BIG if), it’s that it throws the less than perfect things in life into perspective.  Looking at the pictures I took last week makes me realize how much I have to be grateful for.  Over the last week we’ve had friends come to visit, I got to see one of my favorite artists in concert, and I even got to meet a blog friend (and her adorable pup) in person for the first time.  I took a bunch of pictures this weekend that I know are going to make me feel the same way when I go through them next week, and looking at our calendar I know we have some fun things to look forward to in the next couple of months.  I’m feeling pretty lucky, when it comes down to it.

This week reminded me that life is unpredictable, plain and simple.  Instead of links today, I’d love to know- what are you grateful for right now?
